So I finally did something with myself today! I just got back from a really beautiful Baroque concert. AJ was selling tickets for them and so had two free ones himself, and when he asked if I would rather come with him or go with his dad to the waterfront I decided I could see the waterfront another day.
I'm glad I did. Even though I'm not very good at sitting still like this for long periods of time, it was really worth it. If nothing else I got to observe a very unique niche of South African culture. But the music was lovely and engaging and not quite too long, so I lasted. There was a small intermission featuring wine (or juices) and mince pies. (Ooooh mince pies!! *food-glee-death*) The red wine was very good, very well suited to the spicy-sweetness of the pies. (AJ cracks me up when he drinks, I'll have to tell you about it some time.)
It was all thoroughly enjoyable, but I'm exhausted from a hard day of doing nothing now.)
Tomorrow is MCQP. Still not 100% sure I'm not going, but we'll see. Otherwise, I've no idea what I'm doing. Still. (Probably going to see B*mumblesomethinginAfrikaans* to see the lights.)
And Christmas is in less than a week! It's hard to believe, with the weather as balmy as it is! Tinsel and trees and little Santa figures look so out of place under the summer sun.
